Merchandise / Swag
I think this is a prototype hat? It was never for sale in any of Intel's catalogues (refer to the "Uniquely Intel Shop Gift Shop"), and it has a tag that says "SAMPLE" inside. It's the most elaborate version of any Pentium 4 hat Intel made that I can find, and even crazier, the Pentium 4 logo on the front is larger than I've seen on any other. It remains one of my favourite items in my.. "NetBurst collection".
These were probably some of the earlier shirts sold by Intel (manufactured by "King Louie"), they're from right out of the tail end of Y2K with that design which was very popular in the 90's. It's the best variant of Pentium 4 shirt in my opinion. It even has a little pocket to store spare Pentium 4s!
These were some Pentium 4 fridge magnets that I guess intel sold for awhile. I did not see them in any catalogues, so no idea where they were sold. they're different from the similarly looking pins.
I was quite surprised to see these. You don't see too many "holographic" things anymore, and these mousepads are a great example of it:

The "Rock the desktop" CD-ROM came in a cardboard sleeve that housed the CD going over all of the amazing performance the Intel® Pentium® 4® NetBurst® microprocessor could do for you!
Advertisements
I couldn't believe this was a real advertisement! I quietly sent it to one of my friends who didn't think it was real, either. It is! Sadly I think the context of "NetBurst eggs" is long lost, probably something to do with "fastest processor on earth", where eggs are a product of the earth at the chickens reside on??? I don't know.
Slogans
Slogans that were found on various Pentium 4 advertisements:

- The difference is clearly seen.
- Run for your life! He's using Hyper-Threading Technology.

Why Pentium 4?
Many get mad at me for the Pentium 4 stuff. For me it's the most interesting of Intel's processors because the Pentium 4 served as the 'bridge' to the modern PC architecture (PCI-express x16, 64-bit, VT-x, and whatever else). It's also the only processor to use "trace cache" and a few other abandoned design feats. It's also entertaining to see how far you can push them despite the limitations.
And back in 2006 ~ 2009 my main computer was a high-end Pentium 4, it didn't 'suck' then for what I needed to use it for and eventually even ran Windows 7 just fine. The Pentium 4 HPs at my school absolutely sucked because they were not specced well: 256 / 512 MB of RAM with integrated graphics and cheap parts. Horrible. You have to remember that a lot of software was not yet compatible with multiple cores, so... my system was totally performant (especially since it had 4 GB of RAM and a beefy Quadro, which, really made the difference when most computers had awful GPUs in 2006). Hell, I even played the StarCraft 2 beta on that system. By late 2010 I switched to Core2 as I needed more RAM and some of the VSTs I was using were getting too much for the Pentium 4.
Despite the modern derision the Pentium 4 was sold for a very long time. AMD's offerings were not as appealing due to the worse chipsets and major OEM support. That doesn't excuse Intel's underhanded tactics and stranglehold over the OEMs, though. Another thing people forget about is that everyone *wanted* to see high numbers on the GHz value, it didn't matter if theoretical performance was worse. I will say the 3.8 GHz P4s were pretty rare to see in the wild though, most commonly you saw 3.4 GHz on the higher end and sometimes 3.6 GHz. And of course Intel was working on the 4.0 GHz chips but decided to not produce them, which is unfortunate. I always had a feeling the 4.0 GHz existed before it was confirmed they did.
