	PLANET CHROMIUM (Challenge Planet #102)
	---------------------------------------

Welcome to Chromium...only recently discovered, the planet features a thick but breathable atmosphere and is livable by human MojoNauts. Since its discovery Chromium has become a primary source of natural chrome, as much of its crust is comprised of the malleable yet tough metal. Strange metallic landforms jut from the surface, perhaps caused by the magnetic pull of the planet's larger moon, which is also comprised completely of metallic compounds.

Hail, MojoNauts!

This is my second planet, and my first planet available for public release. It's an original one (no elements from other planets), but I used Calyxa's Stone Roses Tutorial as a base, so the appropriate credit must be given. It's been a great learning experience for me, as I got the chance to study such classics as Huduce and Dale very closely. But I digress. Here's a quick rundown of the sliders available on Chromium:

Burning Sky: Changes the atmosphere color to a deep red. Default is more of a bluish color.
Sunset Colors OFF: Turns sunset colors off, which are enabled by default.
Clearer Sky: Eliminates some of the cloud layers to make the sky look a bit less busy, perhaps for a better shot of the moons. Default is OFF.
WHOA: Increases the size of the displacements on the chrome towers up to a maximum of double the size, making for some slightly wackier effects. Be careful with this one! Bigger displacements mean longer render times!
Low Mist OFF: Gets rid of the default yellowish mist near the ground.
Sea Level: Controls the height of Chromium's ocean, from complete dryness to flood.
Landform Size: Alters the size of the undisplaced mountainous terrain. Lower values will make tight, rocky regions with steeper mountains while higher values will produce huge expanses of flat terrain.
Moon 1 Size: Controls the size of the larger metallic moon.
Moon 2 Size: Controls the size of the smaller rocky moon.

Render times range from average to rather long, depending on how close you get to the displaced towers and how big you make the actual displacements (exercise some discretion when playing with that). FYI, average render times on my PIII 1gHz box w/ 256 MB RAM was about 6-8 hours. Almost every surface is light sensitive, so have some fun with that. Hope you all enjoy your visit to Chromium.
